about

“If you reach back into the depths of the FKOF Free Downloads archive, you’ll find a few freebies we put out in 2014 (to celebrate winning ‘Best Website’ in the DSF Awards) with a Denverite (much like Khonsu from FKOFd032) dubstep duo known as Valac. Fast forward four years, and the duo are still producing and DJing 140bpm material. However, Matt is now known as DMVU and has found a home with the Circus Records crew. Luke has stuck to the deep and darker flavours and is releasing his FKOFd debut as Binary with a weighty four tracker…”

“Our 35th EP launches itself into your consciousness with the aptly-titled K I L L YOU; a looping vocal sample with crisp percussion, a relentless, rolling synth and electric atmostpherics. The release doesn’t really let up from thereon out. If there was perhaps a tune that best epitomised the FKOFd sound, track two – Cataclysm – might be it. Beats, bass and space. Pure, driving dreadweight – a guaranteed recipe for success. Watch for that second drop too. Decoding brings an industrial audial adventure to the release with its sharp edges and torturous sequencing. If you’re looking for the soundtrack to your next nightmare, this might be it. Last, but definitely not least, we welcome the anthemic Skeleton Dance to our back catalogue – a production that sees Binary collaborate with fellow Denver-based musician Ceiva. This is about as disconcertingly wobbly as we tend to go, and you’ll find yourself coming back to this one in the dance time after time. Soundsystem destroyer; trust us on that one.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been almost five years since our first collaboration with Luke, before the Binary moniker was born. Here we are, all these years later, with similarly delectable music for your ears. We’re really, really excited to see where this artist goes next…”
